A group of innovative students from Â鶹 Collegiate Academy have been named as finalists in the national Apps for Good Showcase for their healthcare app concept, Swift Health.ÌýÌý

The idea was developed in response to the growing demand for digital solutions that support more accessible, efficient, and connected healthcare. The students set out to create a streamlined, user-friendly alternative that would make it easier for people to manager their health needs.ÌýÌý

Swift Health was a concept for a digital app designed to simplify and improve access to healthcare for individuals and their carers. The students proposed a platform that would bring together key features such as appointment booking, secure messaging, virtual consultations and personalised health tracking. It also included a dedicated caregiver mode, offering tools to help monitor the wellbeing of loved ones, manage medication reminders, and coordinate care more effectively.ÌýÌý

The project was developed through the Apps for Good Programme, which enables students to identify real issues that matter to them and their communities, and develop creative digital solutions. Through a combination of guided learning and hands-on design work, students gain practical experience in areas including app development, user research, problem-solving and teamwork – skills that are vital in today’s digital economy.ÌýÌý

Thomas Daly, Principal at Â鶹 Collegiate Academy, said: “Reaching the finals is a testament to the real-world skills our students are developing through programmes like Apps for Good. With Swift Health, they have tackled a genuine societal challenge while demonstrating critical thinking, collaboration, and empathy.ÌýÌýÌý

“This kind of learning empowers young people to use technology responsibly and creatively to improve lives. We are immensely proud of their professionalism and dedication.â€ÌýÌý
